Barnaba Korir, AK's Youth Development Director, emphasized the significance of the event for the young athletes. "It was inspiring to see these kids compete on the same platform as elite stars," he remarked. "Their impressive performances at the Absa Sirikwa Classic not only showcased their potential but also allowed them to gain valuable experience in the world of athletics."
The event provided a unique opportunity for the children to interact with seasoned athletes, who likely served as powerful sources of inspiration.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as spectators cheered on the young athletes, clapping and encouraging them as they passed through the challenging course. The courage displayed by the children, as they navigated the race amid hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, was truly remarkable.

"It was both moving and inspiring to watch them cross the finish line, demonstrating resilience and determination."Korir said.
Korir also highlighted the success of AK’s kid's athletics program, which has seen an increasing number of children participating in various competitions. "These young athletes represent the future of athletics, and Athletics Kenya is fully committed to supporting them, identifying their talents, and helping them reach their full potential," he said.
